What Is ADE? Why Amsterdam Dance Event Matters for Independent Artists

If you're in electronic music and haven't heard of ADE, here's what you need to know. Amsterdam Dance Event is the world's largest electronic music conference and festival, held every October in Amsterdam. It draws over 400,000 visitors, 2,500+ artists, and 600+ events across the city.

Why ADE Matters for Independent Artists

ADE isn't just for established names. It's one of the rare moments where emerging artists can meet label heads, booking agents, festival programmers, and fellow artists in one concentrated window. A conversation at ADE can change the direction of a career — a booking, a release deal, a collaboration, or simply knowing you're not alone in this industry.

The Financial Barrier Problem

The problem is cost. Flights, accommodation, conference passes, and event fees add up fast. For emerging artists in the U.S. — particularly those from Miami, Montreal, or other cities without easy European access — the total can easily reach $2,000–$4,000. That's not accessible for most independent artists who are still building their careers.

Medtronica Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit built to remove exactly this kind of barrier. In 2026, we're running our Help Send Two DJs to ADE campaign — funding travel, accommodation, and registration fees for two emerging electronic music artists to attend Amsterdam Dance Event in October 2026. Who Should Apply

Emerging electronic music artists who are actively gigging or producing, have a genuine financial barrier to attending ADE, and are based in Miami, Montreal, New York, or similar markets. We're looking for artists who would benefit most from the network and visibility ADE provides — not those who can afford to go on their own.
